Google Play Store services are likely to be shut down in Pakistan after the State Bank of Pakistan changed the Direct Carrier Billing method.
According to sources, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has canceled a payment of $34 million to international service providers, after which mobile users will not be able to download Google Play Store services in Pakistan from December 1, 2022.
With Google Play Store services suspended, Pakistani users will only be able to download Google and other international apps for credit card or debit card payments.
The SBP replaced the Direct Carrier Billing (DCB) system after which mobile companies stopped paying $34 million annually to international service providers including Google, Amazon and Meta etc.
It is to be noted that the credit card feature is limited to a certain number of users due to which most of the mobile users will not be able to download the app from the Google Play Store.

It is likely that the facility to download the App Play Store through mobile phones will not be available in Pakistan from December 1, 2022.
