Low cost and effective flood warning sensor developed
Bonn: German experts have developed an efficient and low-cost water sensor that uses solar power to monitor water flow in rivers. This is especially true in areas that are prone to frequent floods. According to a report published in the latest publication of the Journal of Water Resources Research, traditional river flow measuring instruments often break down in high-speed flows. It is impossible to take consistent measurements with most instruments. Although there are modern systems, they are very expensive. Now this device is not only free from all these defects, but has been working for two years in the lower part of the Rhine. It issues continuous water measurements that can be viewed on the app. Due to its low cost, its sensors can be installed in many places for better monitoring of water flow.
