Mumbai: On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a Sports Day was organized by the New Disabled Foundation in Kandivali, Mumbai. In which hundreds of disabled children participated. Children with different disabilities participated in more than a dozen sports in this sports day program. Chief Minister’s Medical Room Chief Mangesh Chiute was present on this occasion. On the other hand, Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Minister of Women and Child Development in Maharashtra Government, has announced in his video message to help disabled children in every possible way. Let us tell you that today Maharashtra has become the first state in the country which has decided to create a Ministry of Disabled Persons. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced the formation of the Ministry of Disabled Persons at a program in Mumbai.
Hundreds of specially-abled children participated in the event organized by the Nav Devyang Foundation at Babasaheb Ambedkar Udayan in Kandivali, Mumbai. On this occasion, disabled children also showed enthusiasm and participated in all the games. Among the children with disabilities, mostly children with autism were seen, while some children participated in sports in wheelchairs.

Maharashtra govt will stand by children with disabilities: Cheote
Chief Minister Medical Cell Chief Mangesh Cheute said that the Maharashtra government has announced the formation of the Ministry of Disabled Persons today, through which steps will be taken to improve the education and life of disabled children. Mangesh Chowte said that the society should also come forward now so that such children can get an equal share in the society. Mangesh Cheute assured the people present at the program that Maharashtra government will stand by the disabled children and provide them all possible support.

Sanjay Matha, Chief Trustee of New Devyang Foundation, says that cases of disabled children have increased in the past. Due to which neither these children get admission in normal schools nor such children get any special recognition in the society. Matha says, “Through No Devyang Foundation, we are not only educating such children about their daily needs but also helping them stand on their own feet.” We request the Government of Maharashtra to take necessary steps to take care of such children. Foundation trustees Gopal Bhagwat, Sagar Kamble, Akshara and Neelima Matha were also present on the occasion.

Every year on December 3, the Day of Persons with Disabilities is celebrated worldwide. A few days ago, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, announced the formation of the Ministry of Disabled Persons in Maharashtra in view of the problems of disabled children, so that the battle for the rights of disabled children can be fought more strongly. Announcing the Ministry of Disabled Persons in Maharashtra, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Saturday said that the Maharashtra government will give every disabled person the right they need.
