Adidas partners with crypto fitness app Stepn, NFTs and merchandise coming soon

Games • April 15, 2024, 7:00 a.m. EDT

Sports footwear and apparel giant Adidas is teaming up with Solana-based fitness app Stepn, the latter announced Monday.

The partnership will begin with a batch of 1,000 NFTs called the Stepn x Adidas Genesis sneaker collection. It is based on some of the “most iconic running silhouettes,” according to a press release.

This Genesis collection is the first in a series of co-branded activities between Stepn and Adidas during a year-long partnership that will see other NFT drops and physical and wearable items on the roadmap “Stepn said in his statement.

The NFT collection is expected to launch later this week, on April 17, via Stepn’s sister non-fungible token marketplace. Mooar.

Adidas has already established crypto-related web3 partnerships with Coinbase, Bored Ape Yacht Club and Bugatti.

Stepn is a Web3 money-making app that rewards users with cryptocurrency for walking or running. This isn’t the first time Stepn, which says it has 5 million registered users, has partnered with a shoe company. In 2022, Stepn partnered with Asics.

“The fact that such a physical and digital – or ‘phygital’ – partnership between the most widely used lifestyle app and a global brand like Adidas is now a reality indicates the direction lifestyle rewards are heading.” , said Shiti Manghani, CEO of Stepn, in the company’s press release.

Last week, Stepn dropped bonus points worth a total of $30 million worth of GMT tokens.
