The new card allows customers to earn rewards for everyday spending that can be redeemed for gift cards at Amazon.de.
Amazon Barclaycard customers receive 1% reward on all Amazon purchases, 0.5% reward on everyday non-Amazon spending in the first 12 months and 0.25% thereafter. Amazon Prime members also receive 2% back on all spending on Amazon on certain shopping event days, including Cyber Monday, Black Friday and Prime Day.
Customers can track their rewards balance and redeem their rewards for Amazon gift cards in the Barclaycard app. There is no annual fee for the card and customers currently receive a £20 Amazon.co.uk gift card if their application is approved.
The Amazon Barclaycard is the latest partnership between Amazon and Barclays, which includes Barclays’ Installations in the UK – a reusable credit account that allows Amazon customers to spread the cost of purchases over £100 into fixed monthly payments.
Separately, Banco Santander and Amazon have begun rolling out a rewards-based Visa credit card for German consumers.
