Available for download on iOS and Android app stores, the app is based on Ant Group’s BaiLing core model with the aim of making everyday tasks easier through user-friendly interactions.

By typing or voice chat in Zhixiaobao, users can order meals, hail taxis, book tickets, and discover local restaurants and entertainment venues, making it easier to access third-party services in Alipay.

The app also offers a number of built-in AI agents, each with specific domain knowledge. This includes an “English language teacher” who can help users create a learning plan and provide tips for learning the language. There is also a “Fitness Pro” agent available to help users design workout routines and give them personalized workout tips.

Cyril Han, President of Ant Group, said: “The development of AI goes beyond mere technological advancement. It’s about applying these advances to practical, user-focused solutions. Alipay is committed to harnessing the potential of AI to improve user experience and ensure that AI assistants like Zhixiaobao become valuable tools in everyday life for everyone.”

In addition to Zhixiaobao, Ant Group also introduced a new AI agent development platform that allows merchants to create customized AI service agents that can be deployed in just one minute without the need for programming.

Other innovations include an AI Healthcare Manager that connects users to over 30 healthcare services, including doctor recommendations, interpretation of medical test results, hospital navigation and personalized medical advice.
