The Australian Securities and Investments Commission has obtained travel ban orders against Liang Guo (also known as Allan Guo), the former director of the defunct Blockchain Global Limited.

Australian Federal Court orderamong other things, that Guo will not be able to leave or attempt to leave the country before August 20, 2024, according to an announcement made yesterday by ASIC.

The orders follow a hearing on February 20, 2024 and come in the middle concerns of ASIC that Guo can leave the country. Guo did not attend the hearing.

Guo is currently under investigation by ASIC – as are former Blockchain Global directors Samuel Xue Lee and Zijang (Ryan) Xu – following the collapse of an exploited crypto exchange by Blockchain Global called ACX Exchange.

Blockchain Global operated ACX Exchange from approximately January 2016 to December 2019. The liquidators, after being assigned to Blockchain Global on February 11, 2022, filed a detailed report outlining potential breaches of the Australian Corporations Act 2001 on February 1 November 2023.

The next court date is currently scheduled for March 12, 2024.
