Worxpertise announced a menstrual leave policy, a first of its kind in the Indian BPO industry

Gurugram, Mar 7 () Worxpertise, a global digital business solutions company, announced the implementation of a new menstrual leave policy for its female employees in India, effective from April 1, 2023.

The policy, a first of its kind in the Indian BPO industry, will provide women with 12 days paid leave in a year to deal with menstrual-related challenges.

Despite an increase in menstrual awareness and education over the past few years, menstruation is still a taboo subject in India. With this new policy, worxpertise aims to help its female employees take care of themselves during their periods and menopause without ending up sick or other leaves.

The menstrual leave policy can be availed every month, with one leave per month for women, whether they are working from the office or from home. The process for obtaining these addresses is the same as for other types of leave and can be accessed through the company’s HRIS employee portal.

“We’re a small but fast-growing company, and as we grow our business, there are some fundamental principles we want to follow. One of them is about creating an environment where our All women colleagues can grow professionally and personally without discrimination,” said Rajeev Gupta, Founder and MD, WorkExpertise.

The new policy is a no-questions-asked policy, which aims to end the taboo around menstruation in India. If a woman wants to take time off because of menstrual discomfort, she should not feel ashamed to do so.
