The AI For All educational series consists of bite-sized educational videos on topics such as generative AI, deep learning and responsible AI. In addition, role-specific AI training is also offered to employees across the bank.

The microlearning series launched in May 2024 for approximately 43,000 CommBank employees and has generated more than 22,000 collective views across its nine learning modules.

Jane Adams, Executive General Manager Human Resources Technology at CommBank, said: “We know that AI is an increasingly important tool for delivering the best products and experiences for our customers, and with this in mind we are committed to being a skilled, future-ready organization to promote the workforce.”

The bank has been using AI for several years to better protect customers from fraud and scams and detect technology-enabled abuse.

In October, the company said it was exploring the use of generative AI to create “synthetic customers” that can mimic human behavior to test response to new products and services.

The Bank has adopted a principles-based approach to policies governing the design, development, deployment and use of AI systems.

“When designing the content of our AI training suite, it was important that responsible AI was a core theme. Regardless of someone’s position at the bank, we all play a key role in using AI responsibly and managing AI risks,” says Adams.
