Stalin will visit the rain-hit Sarkazi town on Monday.
Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin is scheduled to visit Srikazi town in Meladuthrai district on Monday to take stock of the damage caused by heavy rains in the area in the past few days.
Stalin said he would visit the Cauvery delta region after conducting an inspection in Meladuthrai district.
There has been heavy rain in Srikazi affecting standing crops and even normal life. In the 24 hours ending November 12, 44 cm of rain was recorded in Srikazi.
The chief minister’s office said Stalin will visit other areas in the delta where heavy rains have caused problems for standing crops and normal life after his visit to Srikazi.
Meanwhile, the IMD said that the rains will be very light for a few days from Monday.
However, the Meteorological Department has predicted the formation of a fresh low pressure area over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Andaman after November 16.
Tamil Nadu continued to receive intermittent rains on Sunday and many parts of the state were inundated as reservoirs filled up.
