Traffic restored on Mumbai-Delhi rail route
Ratlam (Madhya Pradesh): In Ratlam rail division, train services on the downline and on the upline were resumed around noon this afternoon after disruption of train services between the Ratlam-Meghnagar railway section on the Mumbai-Delhi route in the morning. At Gate No. 72 Main Level Crossing near Bamania Railway Station at around 8.45 am today.
According to information, Divisional Railway Manager of Ratlam Rail Division Rajneesh Kumar and senior officers of Ratlam Rail Division reached the spot along with the breakdown van.
Reports reaching here said that a loaded truck broke the closed manned level crossing gate and stopped on the up line of the railway section after crushing a motorcycle.
As a result, railway traffic was stopped on both the Up and Down lines. According to information, a freight train was supposed to pass on this railway line a few minutes after the accident and due to this the human level crossing was closed. Thankfully, the train was stopped before it reached the accident site. 19019 Dehradun Express was halted at Meghnagar railway station, and few freight trains were halted at other railway stations.
