The President of Peru named Betsy Chavez as the new Prime Minister.

Peruvian President Pedro Castillo appointed Betsy Chavez as the new prime minister to replace Anibal Torres, who resigned on Thursday after Congress rejected a no-confidence vote.

Chavez, who previously served as minister of culture and minister of labor and employment promotion, was sworn in on Friday during a ceremony at the government palace in the capital, Lima.
