JPMorgan Chase has opened a newly built, multi-million pound, sustainably designed office in Glasgow to house thousands of technology employees.
The 270,000 square meter, 14-story building will house JPMorgan’s technology workforce in Glasgow. The US giant employs 2,600 people in the city, which has been home to one of its technology centers for 25 years.
The site took five years to build, employed 3,900 construction workers and was rated Gold for its management of lighting, water, air quality and noise reduction to the WELL standard.
Lori Beer, Global CIO, JPMorgan Chase, said: “We have been one of Glasgow’s top tech employers for 25 years and this is a conscious long-term investment in the city and our people.”
Scottish First Minister Humza Yousaf added: “The opening of JPMorgan Chase’s new Glasgow office is an exciting moment for the financial services and technology sector in Scotland.”
