Hill community will get reservation but no anger with Gujars, Bekarwals: LG Manoj Sinha
Jammu, Nov 15: Lt Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday said that reservation will be given to the Pahari community but Gujjar and Bakarwal communities in Jammu and Kashmir will not be affected by their already reserved status.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function, LG Sinha said that some people are playing politics on the issue of reservation for the hill community. “I assure the Gujras and Bekarwals that no outrage will be done with the status they are enjoying,” he said.
The LG said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah had already clarified during his recent visit to Jammu that Paharis would get reservation but Gujjar and Bakarwal would not lose anything.
Regarding his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi, LG Sinha said that Modi assured him that the report prepared by the J&K panel on agriculture and its allied sectors would be implemented and that the UT Will also visit.
