Kate’s gorgeous winter wardrobe
,
Last year marked the Princess of Wales’ most expensive outfit ever, with the royal wearing new clothes worth £176,664.
A return to regular royal engagements and overseas tours after the end of the COVID-19 pandemic has seen spending on outfits rise, with 2022 overtaking her previous most expensive year in 2017, when she wore £119,000 of new outfits.
In 2021, the royal has slashed her total new wardrobe by wearing £48,845 worth of new clothes. In 2020, she bought £93,914 worth of new clothes and in 2019, she bought £103,075 worth of clothes.
However, this escalated last year, and according to SO SURE, the top eight outfits from her autumn/winter wardrobe were worth over £30,000 in insurance.
SO-SURE used algorithms to estimate the insurance value, used search demand data and information from social media to arrive at its sum.
The insurance value of eight outfits from her A/W wardrobe was reduced to that of her S/S outfits (which was calculated at £51,100), which was £31,888.
This brings the combined value of his 16 S/S and A/W looks to an astonishingly estimated £82,988.
The monarch is understood to cover the cost of Kate’s wardrobe for ‘work-related’ engagements through her official household budget, but it is unclear whether the princess always pays full price for clothes or receives a discount .
