Mastercard expands fintech programs

Mastercard is expanding the Engage program and Fintech Express platform, making it even easier for fintechs and enablers to work with Mastercard1 to quickly develop and deploy solutions globally.

Engage now offers new partner benefits and a self-service portal that enables fintechs to access exclusive resources, increase brand visibility and secure local support. As for Fintech Express, Mastercard is launching an end-to-end card issuance experience and will add applications for Tap on Phone, Mastercard Gateway, QR acceptance and more to help fintechs navigate the journey from application to To accelerate time to market in a simple, fast and transparent way.

Enabling new solutions through a one-to-many approach

Mastercard Engage connects a network of qualified enablers with each customer – banks, merchants, payment service providers (PSPs) and fintechs – to help them accelerate their migration to digital (e.g. by embedding tokenization, click-to-pay or Push deployment capabilities) and can help them leverage technologies related to open banking, installment payments and more. Engage also has a new search tool that provides customers with more detailed partner information, including contact details, case studies and service descriptions, so they can more efficiently find the right partners to help them develop and deliver new solutions. In return, partners can increase their own growth through access to exclusive resources such as dedicated training sessions, local support, advertising opportunities and lead generation tools.

Today, more than 170 qualified partners participate in the Engage program. Entrust, FOO, Giesecke+Devrient, HST, IDEMIA, Thales, Verestro and many others support the delivery of more than 30 products and services from tokenization and digital wallets to click-to-pay and digital assets. Over the past six years, more than 500 million cards have been equipped with a Mastercard product through the Engage program.

Offers a simple, fast and transparent way to provide payment solutions

In the fast-paced, dynamic fintech industry, speed to market is critical. Fintech Express helps fintechs get their payment products up and running quickly – with transparency every step of the way.

In the case of card issuance, Fintech Express allows fintechs to launch a card in just 15 days. Fintech Express uses a single platform to digitize the onboarding experience for all partners involved in delivering a payment solution, eliminating the need to provide the same information multiple times. Fintechs can easily choose the payment solution that best suits their needs and access Mastercard’s ecosystem of qualified partners from the Engage program such as Banco Dondé, Dock, Evertec, Galileo, Pomelo and Swap. Fintech Express is available today for card issuance in Brazil and Mexico; Additional use cases and markets, including the US, will follow with partners such as Community Federal Savings Bank, i2c and Perfect Plastic Printing.

Beyond card issuance, Fintech Express will soon offer easy onboarding for additional solutions globally such as Mastercard Merchant Presented QR (MCQR) and Tap on Phone, as well as enterprise payment solutions through Mastercard Gateway, which provides a single connection to help customers accept payments globally and expand into new markets more easily.
