No paychecks today for London hospital staff after ‘payroll deposit delays’

Some employees at the London Health Sciences Centre, which includes Victoria and University Hospitals, did not receive their pay checks this morning as they were supposed to.
It is unclear how many of the approximately 15,000 people who work at the hospital network, the largest in the region, have not been paid.
CBC News has spoken to administrative staff as well as nurses and other health professionals who say they have not been paid. We’ve reached the hospital and will update this story when we hear back.
An internal memo to staff does not explain why the payments were not made.
“Please be advised that employee payments were delayed this morning,” said an email from Andrew Pearson, director of employee services. “Human Resources and Finance are aware of this situation and are working to resolve it as soon as possible.”
The memo has also apologized to the employees for the inconvenience of not getting their salaries.
