PayPal’s advanced rewards include the ability to select a monthly spending category, such as groceries or clothing, to earn 5% cash back on up to $1,000 per month when using the PayPal Debit MasterCard. Customers can also stack rewards on top of their monthly category by saving offers from hundreds of top brands in the PayPal app.

For example, Paypal states that if a customer selects “Restaurant” as their monthly category, they will receive 5% cash back and an additional 10% cash back when they save an offer from DoorDash in the PayPal app, which will be automatically applied upon verification with PayPal pay online.

The company is also introducing an auto-recharge option that allows users to set a threshold for PayPal balance to be automatically reloaded when it falls below their chosen amount.

Alex Chriss, President and CEO, PayPal. “It’s a pivotal moment for PayPal and our customers, and a significant first step in bringing the power of PayPal wherever they shop.”

In addition, customers can now add their PayPal debit card to Apple Wallet and use it with Apple Pay in just a few steps.
