Sainsbury’s agrees BNPL deal with Klarna

Klarna, the AI-powered global payments network and shopping assistant, has partnered with Sainsbury’s PLC, whose payment methods will be available at the online checkouts of three well-known brands: Argos, Habitat and TU.

Shoppers can choose between three interest-free payments from Klarna; Pay immediately and in full with Pay Now, pay in 30 days with Pay Later or in three equal installments with Pay in 3.

David Sykes, Chief Commercial Officer at Klarna, said: “More than 20 million Brits already use Klarna and now they can enjoy our flexible payment options at more of their favorite stores.” Argos, Habitat and TU are British icons known for reliability and value and seamlessly complement Klarna’s interest-free payment solutions. We are delighted to take this first step in our partnership with Sainsbury’s PLC.

Klarna offers fair, sustainable payment and shopping solutions. Klarna’s loan products offer an alternative to conventional loans without interest. The company carries out strict eligibility checks to ensure that it only provides loans to those who have the ability to repay the loans. For this reason, 99% of loans are repaid. More consumers are realizing the benefits of interest-free buy now, pay later, with total BNPL spending in the UK set to reach £30 billion in 2024.
