Gautam Nolakha Gautam Nolakha released from jail, will stay at ‘CPI office’ in Navi Mumbai under house arrest
MumbaiGautam Nolakha, an accused in the Elgar Parishad-Maoist links case, was released from Taluja Jail in Navi Mumbai on Saturday evening and will now be under house arrest for a month. Soon after his release from jail, a police team took Nolakha to a building in Navi Mumbai’s Belapur-Agrauli area, where he would remain under house arrest.
A senior jail official said that Nolakha came out of the jail around 6 pm. Earlier in the day, a special court in Mumbai issued a ‘release memo’ for Gautam Nolakha’s house arrest for a month.

The special court hearing the case linked to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) issued the release memo at around 2:15 pm on Saturday. Rejecting the NIA’s plea, the Supreme Court on Friday ordered that Nolakha be placed under house arrest within 24 hours in any case. (agency)
