New Delhi. Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court on Monday sent former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia to judicial custody for 14 days. Now he will be produced in the court on March 20. Earlier on March 4, his CBI custody was extended for two more days, the period of which is ending today. Special Judge MK Nagpal had directed the agency to produce the Aam Aadmi Party leader before the court on Monday.

The CBI had arrested Sisodia on February 26 for allegedly not cooperating in the Delhi Excise Policy case and evading questions from the investigating officers. A special CBI court on Saturday extended Sisodia’s custody till March 6.

Manish Sisodia had resigned from Arvind Kejriwal’s cabinet on February 28 last. According to officials, the agency wants to use Sisodia’s custody to locate an important missing file containing legal opinion on the recommendations of the Special Committee on Excise Policy, which is yet to be traced.

Saurabh Bhardwaj told reporters here on Sunday that Manish Sisodia was being harassed by the CBI and was being forced to sign documents containing false allegations against him. CBI does not have evidence against Sisodia, he never mentioned about the disappearance of any evidence. They raid his residence, but find nothing.

The CBI counsel said, “We are not seeking more CBI remand, but we may seek it in the next 15 days.”

Applications for Haj can be submitted till March 10, helpline numbers have been issued at the district level for the convenience of the pilgrims.

In Delhi’s Excise Policy matter, Rouse Avenue Court has sent former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and AAP leader Manish Sisodia to judicial custody till March 20.
