New IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar takes charge
Lahore (92 News) – The new IG of Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar took charge.
Newly appointed Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has taken charge of the post. On reaching the Central Police Office, he was received by senior officers and the police contingent saluted.
Dr. Usman Anwar also met Additional IG and DIG in his office. Talking to the media, he said that all the challenges were dealt with effectively. Our first priority is to conduct transparent elections. Appointments and transfers will be according to the law and the will of the Election Commission.
He said that to save Punjab from the wave of terrorism, the police response has to be improved to bring down the crime rate.
He further said that drug use is increasing in schools and colleges, he will do everything possible to stop it.
