LAHORE: Star-studded Peshawar Zalmi will face Islamabad United in the first semi-final at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore today, Thursday.
For both teams, today’s match is crucial as the winner advances to the second elimination round, which will be played tomorrow, Friday, March 17. After finishing third, the Shadab-led team automatically qualified for the playoffs.
Yellow Storm, in contrast, are in fourth position going into the Zalmi eliminators and one place behind United. The latest match between Zalmi and United took place on March 12 and Babar Azam’s team won by 13 runs.
The record between Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United is 10-10. So far in the Pakistan Super League, both sides have won 10 of the 20 matches they have played against each other.
United have won three of their last five against Zalmi while maintaining control of their recent fixtures.
