Last week’s notices to attend the hearing
DK Shivakumar, a senior leader of the Mumbai Congress party and president of the party’s Karnataka unit (KPCC), appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday. It is learned that the ED officials have already registered a case against Sivakumar for money laundering. Last week, the ED officials had issued a notice to Sivakumar to appear before them as part of the investigation into this case.
Shivakumar, who directly went to Delhi on Monday with a copy of these notices, appeared before ED officials for questioning. Shivakumar said after receiving the notices that he will not appear for the ED inquiry now as he will soon enter Karnataka due to assembly meetings on the one hand and the Bharat Jodo Yatra undertaken by his party’s senior leader Rahul Gandhi on the other country. It is not known what happened in the meantime, but according to reports from the ED officials, Shivakumar appeared before them for questioning.
