Visa (NYSE: V), a global leader in global digital payments, today announced that it has joined the AWS Partner Network (APN), a global community leveraging AWS technologies, programs, expertise and tools, to develop solutions and services for customers.

Visa’s presence in the APN will help its partners and customers, including cloud-native fintechs, access and integrate select Visa services more efficiently.

Global payments simplified
Visa is committed to making transactions faster, easier and more secure for all players in the payments ecosystem. Visa will make select payment services available in the AWS Marketplace, which has more than 300,000 global customers and thousands of software offerings.

By deploying its services on AWS, Visa meets its customers where they are. One of the first services to become available is Visa Cross-Border Solutions, which helps streamline the process of sending and receiving money worldwide and holding multiple currencies. This strategic positioning will enable Visa customers to integrate solutions such as Visa Cross-Border Solutions into their business operations without having to leave their established platforms.

“Visa is committed to better serving our customers in cloud environments. That’s why we’re excited to bring Visa’s cross-border solutions to the AWS Marketplace,” said Vanessa Colella, Global Head of Innovation and Digital Partnerships, Visa. “Our goal is to make our solutions easily accessible and available to customers so that they can be easily integrated across various platforms. This is another step in our broader commitment to reducing challenges for financial institutions and businesses.”

Cloud-based connectivity
Through AWS, Visa plans to offer more of its products to customers working in the cloud. Companies looking to process payments through AWS on VisaNet, Visa’s global processing network, can already set up secure AWS Privatelink connectivity with Visa Cloud Connect.

Cloud-native fintechs, financial institutions and enterprises have found that using cloud services can help accelerate service delivery and customer adoption. It can also help reduce costs associated with on-premises data centers by implementing specialized hardware such as physical routers and payment hardware security modules (HSMs).

“As a cloud-native card issuer and processor and one of the first card issuers in Europe to connect to the Visa Cloud Connect endpoint in the EU, we believe AWS’s provision of Visa services is a game-changer,” said Merusha Naidu. Global Head of Partnerships, Paymentology. “This partnership paves the way for improved digital payment solutions and provides startups with the tools they need to innovate and thrive in today’s fast-paced world.”

Empowering startups with fintech solutions
Visa is also proud to announce that it is now part of AWS Activate, AWS’ flagship startup program. Fintech customers enrolled in the Visa Fintech Fast Track program and confirmed eligible by AWS can receive up to $100,000 in AWS Activate credits to accelerate their growth and accelerate their time to market.

“We are excited to support the expansion of digital payments, banking and embedded finance capabilities for enterprises and fintech startups building their applications on AWS,” said Howard Wright, VP and Global Head of Startups at AWS. “We look forward to working with Visa to make financial apps in the cloud more accessible, faster, more secure and easier to use.”

Many startups running on AWS have already benefited from Visa programs such as Visa Ready and Fintech Fast Track.
